Our Boats
Our fleet is composed of four side-by-side vessels. The V-shape hull gives them superior stability on the water with fast cornering skills. The experience is enhanced by a D-shaped sport steering wheel and digital gauges showing fuel level, speed, direction, and battery voltage. Every boat has a convenient electric start. The Mercury 4-stroke engines offer a lower noise level.

What is the minimum age for the person in charge of renting and driving the boat?
The driver of the boat must be 19 years old or older.
Can children ride on the boat?
Passengers must be at least 6 years of age. Any passenger under the age of 19 needs to have the rental waiver signed by their legal guardian.
Are pets allowed on the boat?
Small pets are allowed at your own risk. We do not provide safety floating vests for them.
How many people can fit on the boat and what is the maximum weight?
Maximum 2 people are permitted with a maximum combined weight of 320 lb.
What’s included in the rental?
Your rental includes life jackets (mandatory), mandatory safety kit, one tank of gas and a map of the navigable waters.
What do I need to bring to rent a boat?
- A government issued photo ID
- The same credit card used to pay the online booking
- $ 500 deposit of either a credit card or cash for boat damage.
Do I need a boat licence to rent a boat?
No, upon a mandatory safety briefing we hold before boarding, we provide you with a free one-day boating license when renting with us.
How can I get to the boat rentals?

We are located behind the Harbour Theatre.
Walk around the curved building, past the yellow bar/gate, and continue to the end of the walk way. Walk past the office (white shipping container) and you will see a fence and white metal door with a code lock. You will see our boats and our staff, who will come open the door and welcome you to our dock.
Where can I park?
Do I need to book in advance?
While it is possible to book on the spot, reservations are highly recommended! Book online or call 236-878-1319 to make a reservation.
What should I wear?
Vancouver weather can be highly unpredictable. At high speeds, it can be windy and cold on the boat. You may want to consider bringing a long-sleeved sweater or jacket.
I don’t know how to swim. Can I still rent the boat?
Yes, you can. You do not need to know how to swim to drive/ride on the boat.
All passengers must wear their life jacket at all times, regardless of swimming experience.Can I anchor the boat?
No, there is no anchor on the boat.
How far can I go with the boat?
You can go as far as the red and green buoys at the beginning of English Bay (as outlined by the yellow boundary in the map below).
It is important that this boundary be respected and followed to ensure your safety and timely return.
There is a MANDATORY 5 knot (10 km/h) speed limit for the whole False Creek area so please be mindful of how far you are and how long it will take you to return. If we find you speeding and breaking the law, you will be asked to return to the docks immediately and you will lose your deposit.
Can I eat and/or drink on the boat?
Yes, food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed on the boat. It is illegal to operate a boat under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
If our staff finds you intoxicated at the return, you will lose the deposit.Can I return the boat earlier or later than scheduled?
If you return the boat earlier than the ending time of your rental slot, there will be no partial refund. If you want to extend your rental time, please call us to check the availability. If the boat is not booked for the next trip, we may extend your rental time. Returning the boat later than 15 minutes according to the schedule without notifying us will incur extra charges as per rental agreement.
What if the weather is not suitable for boating?
You can rent a boat in light rain, but we reserve the right to cancel if the weather does not permit safe boating. If that happens, a full refund will be provided.
What is your cancellation Policy?
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the reservation time will be charged the full rental amount. Those canceling 48 hours or more prior to their reservation will receive a full refund of their payment. Please send a cancellation request to info@minispeedboatrentals.ca
